Community Housing Assistance Program Inc. ( CHAPA ) is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Benefit Charitable Corporation, founded in 1991, and for the past 28 years, CHAPA has been guided by concerned and compassionate people committed to providing those who are unable to afford the necessities of life with safe, decent, social-service-enriched affordable housing.
Our exceptional and award winning affordable multi-family and senior communities provide leadership models for other communities and organizations to aspire to. Our unique management and operating approach offers a seamless continuum of care for families of lower income. Our homes are created using combinations of Bond financing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, down-payment assistance and various government resources. CHAPA’s extended community activities include, but are not limited to the delivery of professional social and educational programs to families, children and the elderly. Our social services are free to residents, self-sustaining and funded internally by each of our properties.
CHAPA is certified as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) in 38 counties in California.
